Free Assault Prevention Training Comes to the Women of Indianapolis

We have all worried about our safety… the safety of our daughters… our sisters… our mothers… our friends… We cringed at the latest news about the little girl who was grabbed, abducted and raped, while waiting for the school bus… We walk a little quicker to our cars in light of the recent rapes in downtown Indianapolis… And we decide we don’t want to be victims any longer.

Indianapolis, IN, March 31, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Business Women Connect (BWC) has partnered with the Indianapolis Metro Police Department (IMPD) in conjunction with Mayor Bart Peterson's crime package initiative to bring assault prevention to the women of Indy. April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month and BWC is being pro-active with an evening of intense hands on self-defense education.

The event is scheduled for:
Thursday, April 19
5:30 pm arrival and check-in
6:00 – 8:00 pm training

It will be held at the IMPD Training Academy at 901 North Post Road in Indianapolis.

The BWC Sexual Assault Prevention Training Seminar is going to dispel all the myths we have ever learned about self-defense. Participants will discover what really happens during an attack, and why everything they’ve ever learned about keeping themselves safe is probably wrong.

Through rigorous hands-on training, this seminar will:
· reveal 3 secret weapons we can easily use to defend ourselves - without having to stop and think
· dispel everything we think we know about keeping safe – everything we’ve learned is probably wrong
· expose the truth about the “psychology of combat” - how people really react during an attack

Pre-Registration Is Required
The BWC Sexual Assault Prevention Training Seminar is free and open to all women in the Indy metro area. While there is no charge to attend, donations to the Domestic Violence Network of Greater Indianapolis will be accepted.

There will be a high level of personal attention given to each of the participants. In order to ensure there are enough IMPD officers available, pre-registration is required. Additionally, because the event will entail extensive hands-on training, participants are encouraged to dress comfortably.

Additional information and free on-line registration is available at the BWC website at http://www.businesswomenconnect.com/novictim
