PinoyKubo Social Network Community Has Its Own Tagalog and English eCard Service
Los Angeles, CA, August 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Astraqom, a world IP communications operator who specializes in serving ethnic niche markets with social networks and media, announces the addition of its Tagalog and English language electronic card service to PinoyKubo's online community and platform.
TMCnet contributing editor Rahul Arora noted to its millions of readers on a recent TMC article, "... to make friends to collaborate with, get appreciated for one's talents, accomplishments and abilities, and discover and employ new methods and tools to reach social and business (also may be entrepreneurial and financial) goals..."
Headquartered in Canada, Astraqom already serves many business customers and partners who are from the Philippines, so it was a natural evolution to set up a social network with a focus on the world-wide Filipino community. A key component of the social media platform is to offer electronic tools for its membership to use for social, personal and business activities. Two of the many popular tools added recently was the white board writing chat and Ecard features. Many users asked for E-type cards to choose from to send messages but in their most common native language Tagalog and also English. The feature was added in early August 2011.
"The Ecard service of PinoyKubo is great for members of the social networking site who enjoy sending personalized Ecards to friends and relatives. An Ecard can be personalized as the service lets us choose a theme, write our own message on the Ecard, and apply some customization to the style before sending to the recipient via email. Some Ecards are in English and some are in Tagalog, which makes them more interesting for us Filipinos who use both languages. I think having member-created and submitted Ecards for sending ... would be a good idea since it will make the service more 'social' and will give us even more templates to choose from," shares Catherine P. Keng, graphic designer, web developer, and singer on the PinoyKubo team.
PinoyKubo Ecards is an easy-to-use, cloud-computing based application that enables members to create greeting cards and invitations with a personal touch and promotes connecting with family and friends whether they are members of PinoyKubo or not. Astraqom expects the PinoyKubo Ecards to assist members to meet their personal, social and business goals along with other features in place and to be announced soon such as electronic store, classifieds, and fan clubs or business pages.
Jonathan Sowah, the founder of Pinoyubo, believes that Ecards are a very easy and fun way to get a message out to one's very important people, to develop business or to pay special attention to a loved one. Input from users since adding the feature has been very encouraging, with also many ideas of how to expand the feature.
"Over ten thousand new friendships have been added on PinoyKubo just this week, totaling 63,572 since mid summer 2011 when it made a beta entry to online social networks. We get several wall comments, discussion topics and direct emails about ways to improve the social experience among individuals and organizations who are collaborating as users, developers, sponsors, partners, and what I call social butterflies. The last category, the 'social butterflies' are those who grasp right away how to meet their own goals as well as helping others do the same with Pinoy Kubo social network. The Ecard addition is just one of the many tools that have been added as a result of member requests. We're planning PinoyKubo Party with the Pensacola Filipino American Association soon and other Filipina/o related cultural and business organizations every month in different areas of the world to get more ideas for making PinoyKubo a continually changing and positive social experience," adds Suzanne Bowen, VP of business development and marketing at PinoyKubo.
