CORDURA® Fabrics Featured in Reinvented Hartmann Luggage Collection
Hartmann launches new interpretation of Packcloth Collection using CORDURA® Lite fabric.
Wichita, KS, August 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Hartmann, a luxury luggage manufacturer since 1877, adopted INVISTA’s CORDURA® fabric in its recently debuted Hartmann Packcloth Collection. The new line is an interpretation of a Hartmann original from the 1970s and 1980s that provides a classic design modernized for today’s traveler. The addition of CORDURA® Lite fabric provides lightweight durability and versatility coupled with Hartmann’s casually contemporary design.
With a heritage in soft side luggage and outdoor applications, 420 denier CORDURA® Lite fabric—based on INVISTA nylon 6,6 high tenacity yarns—provides an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to tears, scuffs and abrasions. Trimmed in Hartmann’s original peanut butter vinyl, the collection includes the Overnighter, Deluxe Garment Bag, Club Bag, 21 inch Rolling Duffel, Combo Bag, and 21 inch and 24 inch Expandable Mobile Travelers®. Each piece features enhanced stain resistance and is water repellent.
“The new Hartmann Packcloth Collection, featuring our CORDURA® Lite fabric technology, offers multiple durable and stylish solutions fit for any traveler’s needs,” said Cindy McNaull, global CORDURA® brand and marketing director. “This collection is ideally suited for the demands of today’s traveler, while providing ultimate ease and contemporary design through its lightweight construction and signature Hartmann style.”
“Based on the huge success of the Packcloth Collection in the ‘70s and ‘80s, we knew consumers would resonate with this re-launch,” said Dick Kunkle, vice president of sales and marketing. “All of the new amenities a traveler needs in luggage has been added, yet the soft lines and relaxed styling give the collection a vintage feel, which we think will resonate with both new and existing Hartmann consumers.”
The Hartmann Packcloth Collection is available in classic black, timeless khaki and seasonal fashion colors, all with antique brass hardware. Additionally, all styles have hide-away gusseted pockets, zippered compartments for quick access, comfortable handles and non-slip shoulder straps, plus accommodations for laptops and phones. The collection comes with a lifetime guarantee. To learn more about the new Hartmann Packcloth Collection, please visit www.hartmann.com or www.CORDURA.com.
