Dallas, TX, August 18, 2011 --(PR.com)-- After a nearly yearlong hiatus, the Dallas-based indie rock outfit Shapes Stars Make returns to the music scene with a new single, a new bandmate, and an exciting show announcement. Following a packed 2010 which saw the release of the band's acclaimed debut full-length album, a host of regional shows, and a West Coast tour including dates at the Viper Room in Los Angeles and The Biltmore in Vancouver, B.C, the band is set to return with a new energy and a modern approach to the music industry.
“Into His Ghost,” the band’s first studio recording in over a year, was recorded on a scorching summer day at The Busy Box Studio in Dallas, TX. Engineered and mixed by Stephen Hudson, the single is an exploration of beauty and freedom expressed by dynamic instrumentation and allaying lyrics. “Into His Ghost” is set to be released on August 16, 2011 and will be available via a free download at http://shapesstarsmake.bandcamp.com/album/into-his-ghost-single. All future recordings released independently by the band will be available in the same fashion.
Stephen Hudson’s work with SSM is not limited to the studio. Following a change of direction for SSM, Stephen was asked to become the full-time drummer for the band. Upon his decision to join the band SSM has begun the task of catching Stephen up with the back catalog while creating new material for upcoming shows in the fall.
The first show to mark SSM’s return to the stage will be hosted by Dallas radio station KXT 91.7 in conjunction with the Dallas Museum of Art’s Late Night concert series on Friday, September 16, 2011. The band will take the stage at 10 p.m. at 1717 North Harwood Street in Dallas. More shows for 2011 are currently being booked. All upcoming dates will be announced on the Shapes Stars Make website and Facebook page.
