Passive Fire Protection Inspection Company Named “Partners in Philanthropy” Finalist
Fire damper inspection company named finalist in local program
Louisville, KY, August 21, 2011 --(PR.com)-- LSS Life Safety Services (LSS), an industry leader in fire and smoke damper inspections, fire door inspections, and firestopping services, has been named a finalist in Business First’s new “Partners in Philanthropy Awards” program. The program recognizes Louisville-area businesses that support local charities with substantial donations and creative partnerships.
LSS has been a corporate sponsor for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Light the Night” walk for the past three years and also serves on the Executive Committee to help plan the local fundraising events. Apart from the time spent attending kick-off events and recruiting other local business to get involved with the organization, LSS also forms a company-wide walk team to raise money for “Light the Night.”
“It’s fantastic to work with people like Jen Pitts with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society who have the passion needed to drive and support the fundraising efforts, especially in such a tough economy,” said Craig Rutledge, owner of LSS Life Safety Services. “To hear the stories of those suffering from blood cancers and to learn how the money we raise aides in the research needed to cure these diseases is really inspiring to me. It is really refreshing to hear the stories of hope and recovery within our community and the LSS team is proud to be a part of that.”
LSS’ faculty and staff enjoy the involvement of a community‐based charity as well. “I feel extremely privileged to work for a business that cares enough to give back to our community,” said Lisa Campbell, Office Manager and “Light the Night” walk team‐member. “It is truly heartwarming to me that even a small business can care as much as we do.”
Business First will recognize the winners of the “Partners in Philanthropy” awards program in a special publication on August 26th. Awards will be given in three categories – small, medium and large businesses. The honorees for the awards, such as LSS Life Safety Services, were determined based on how much cash companies have contributed to non-profit organizations throughout the year.
