Local Family Friendly Franchise Shortlisted for Award

Nottingham, United Kingdom, August 21, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Mums and Working Awards seek to reward and recognise the companies and individuals that make flexible working possible and show that family-friendly employment supports family life, enables parents to achieve their full potential, is of great benefit to the UK economy and gives real value to all involved.

Precious Memories was founded by Glenda Hickmott, mother of two young girls, and all the franchise holders are parents of young children too. Unlike many franchise opportunities, the entry costs are low and come with an affordable payment plan. All the franchise holders support each other, and understand the challenges of juggling family life with working and running a business.

Precious Memories was initially nominated by Nicola Kelsall, owner of the Sutton in Ashfield studio. The family friendly set-up allowed Nicola to change career from teacher to business owner following the birth of her second child.

Nicola says, "After the birth of my daughter, I really wanted a change of direction. After more than ten years in teaching, I wanted to be able to spend more time at home. Precious Memories allowed me to express my creative side, and put my business skills to good use, with a support network of likeminded people behind me. Running a Precious Memories franchise allows me to be around for my children and earn a living."

Winners of all award categories will be announced at the Business Mums Summit in Brighton on 10 October 2011.
