One World Trekking to Offer Trek Into Nepal’s Hidden Tsum Valley
One World Trekking will offer an October 2012 research trek into Nepal's Tsum Valley. This will be an off-the-beaten path hiking journey to the remote “Valley of Pilgrimage.”
Aspen, CO, August 23, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The magnificently hidden valley of Tsum is located in north-central Nepal in the shadow of Mount Manaslu, the world’s eighth highest peak. In October 2012, Himalayan adventure travel leader One World Trekking will be offering a group trek into this truly amazing region of Nepal.
“We are planning a 21 day research trip for the beginning of October,” says One World’s Andy Crisconi. “The Tsum Valley is situated in a rather stunning, wild and unexplored region of Nepal inhabited mainly by the people of the Gurung ethnic group,” Andy continues. The valley of Tsum is exceptionally rich in cultural assets and the land is dotted with gompas (Buddhist monasteries), chortens and mani walls.
“This area has only been open to foreigners for the past few years and the area doesn’t see many trekkers. We have to run this as a camping trek as there isn't much travel infrastructure in the way of tea houses. If you want to go…the sooner the better,” says Andy.
At the moment, the Tsum Valley remains a hidden gem for the avid hiker.
