Monte "G" Crofts, Jr. of M.G.Crofts Photography is proud to announce that (4) four of his recent images have been Jury-Selected as Award Winning Entries during the (IPA) - International Photography Awards Competition for 2011 - One Bronze award for Water-Dance - and three (3) Honorable Mention Awards for the following images: Shoreline Pastels - Yvon Chouinard and Night-Lights.

The photographic work of Monte "G" Crofts, Jr. has recently been recognized by a Prestigious Panel of International Industry Peers to receive the following Awards during the recently held - IPA - International Photography Awards for 2011. The winning entries selected were: Bronze - 3rd place in Special - Moving Images category for the winning entry Water-Dance - Honorable Mention in Editorial - Personality category for the winning entry Yvon Chouinard - Patagonia Founder/CEO/Activist - Honorable Mention in Special - Night Photography category for the winning entry Night-Lights - and an Honorable Mention in Nature - Sunset category for the winning entry Sunset-Pastels.

This has been my very first competition in presenting my work - so these awards mean a great deal to my professional growth in this highly competitive industry and genre. “From my early days surfing and exploring California’s rugged Central Coast - while Summering in the hamlet of Cambria - to traveling the World - it is my wish to evoke the excitement, energy and light that I gather for my imagery and projects - and hope my work will inspire and create a memorable experience for the viewer...I’ve been surfing since I was teenager, a waterman and free surfer, and really enjoy the energy, motion & light of water and the natural surroundings for each region I travel to - and the uniqueness of their environments.” Monte holds an MA degree in I.M.C. and studied film as an undergraduate - has worked in the entertainment industry and also for EMI, Virgin Records, and continues to work in the industry - producing, consulting, and on assignment. The International Photography Awards is a sister-effort of the Lucie Foundation, where the top three winners are announced at the annual Lucie Awards ceremony. The awards event will be held at the Lincoln Center in New York on October 24, 2011, before returning to Los Angeles in 2012 in celebration of the 10-year anniversary. Over 8,000 submissions from 90 countries were received for the 2011 International Photography Awards with over 70 jurors, the largest to date.
