CornerStone Title Seminar Offers 3 Hours of CE Credit for Realtors
Sarasota, FL, August 26, 2011 --(PR.com)-- At the request of clients and seminar participants, CornerStone Title will present “Contracts Explained: Why You Can’t Write a Deal on a Cocktail Napkin,” featuring real estate law expert Barbara P. Burke. The seminar is approved by the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) for three hours of Continuing Education (CE) Credit.
The seminar is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, September 27, at the Polo Grill, 10670 Boardwalk Loop in Lakewood Ranch. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. A complimentary lunch follows the presentation.
Participants will learn the definition of a contract, requirements for a valid contract, and issues that arise if a contract is breached. The differences between the FAR, FAR/BAR and FR/BAR contract forms will be explained, as well as the potential liabilities to real estate professionals with respect to the creation, amendment and interpretation of these contracts. Typical contract disputes and their outcomes will be reviewed, using actual cases.
Speaker Barbara Burke has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Vanderbilt University, master’s and doctorate degrees in communications from Florida State University, and a law degree from Florida State University. No longer practicing law, she provides training and seminars for title, real estate, legal and mortgage groups.
