Art & Soul of St. Pete Featuring Stu Andrews and Josh Sullivan

St. Petersburg, FL, August 28, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The St. Petersburg Museum of History is proud to announce the “Art and Soul: Artist of St. Pete” Exhibit. Throughout the year they will have local artists of multiple mediums presenting their pieces within the museum. Every two months a new artist will be on display. September Artists are Stu Andrews & Josh Sullivan!

Josh Sullivan is the author the independently published book “Fifty-Two Friends,” and a previous nominee for the Ignatz Award for Most Outstanding Mini-Comic. Josh has been publishing comics and ‘zines since 1996 and has completed over 130 books. Mr. Sullivan has taken the art of his comic books and created paintings that will ignite your imagination.

Stu Andrews is better known as “Stuthepainter.” According to Stu, he “paints human beings being human.” Along with exhibiting complete original works of art Stu is also known for his ability to bring the life back into old photographs. His paintings have equal emphasis on the quality of detail in human depiction as well as their background, showing an affinity for landscapes as well as portraits.

Join them September 3rd from 6 to 8pm for this special exhibit opening. Suggested donation of $5. In addition we will unveil our latest installment of the “Inspiration Corner” exhibition; in which local elementary students use the displaying artists work as inspiration for their own masterpieces. This very special exhibit will be displayed along side the main artists work as part of our community outreach program.

Founded nearly 90 years ago, the St. Petersburg Museum of History has established itself as the preservation and education center it is today, primarily through the interest and generosity of members of our community just like you.
