College Dropouts Re-Enrolls for Fall Semester at Arizona State University
Tempe, AZ, August 31, 2011 --(PR.com)-- One of Tempe’s more popular college bars returns to school Sept. 1 as College Dropouts re-opens near the Arizona State University campus.
A college hangout for students and college football fans since 2008, College Dropouts is famously known for inventing the popular “Drinkin’ with Lincoln” penny draft beer specials that quickly were copied by other Tempe establishments.
“Drinkin’ with Lincoln” returns as does a completely renovated hot spot with a new bar, completely revamped interior and expanded patio seating. College Dropouts is conveniently located across the street from ASU’s Sun Devil Stadium.
“It’s a great location,” said owner Kevin Jones. “We’re so close to Sun Devil Stadium, the building rocks every time ASU scores. You can’t get closer to the stadium without a ticket.”
Sept. 1 also marks the opening day of the 2011 NCAA College Football season and College Dropouts will celebrate in style, with a slate of 15 games being shown the bar’s plasma televisions.
The first 50 visitors will receive a special gift and the bar will mark the day with 2-for-$3 Jello shots all day (or until the vodka runs out!), $1 off well and draft from noon to 3 p.m. and a $150 VIP Area Keg Service Rental featuring a torpedo domestic keg.
“College Dropouts is the perfect place for people to unwind, relax and really enjoy themselves and the college-bar tradition,” said Kevin Jones, owner and manager of College Dropouts. “We’re back to return a Tempe tradition to its ASU heritage.”
Located within walking distance from Arizona State University’s Sun Devil Stadium and Wells Fargo Arena, College Dropouts is sure to be a first-stop for many after-game revelers looking to celebrate. The bar is also within walking distance of ASU student housing and downtown Tempe.
“We love being part of the college scene at ASU,” said Jones, “After students hits the books, we’re their first stop as they hit the bars.”
Daily happy hour specials will run from 4 to 7 p.m. and include $5 Running Nakeds, $4 Q Bombs, $3 Long Island Iced Teas, $2 PBRs and $1 off drafts. The bar will have 2-for-1 drink specials on Friday night, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., live music on Saturdays and a 25 percent discount for industry professionals all day Sundays.
