HR People & Strategy Announces 2011-2012 Board of Directors
Chicago, IL, August 31, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Kevin Rubens, incoming chair of HR People & Strategy (HRPS), formally the Human Resources Planning Society, is pleased to announce the 2011-2012 board of directors. Three new members join the ten existing members of the board on September 1, 2011. Each will serve a three-year term.
“In the rapidly changing environment of human resources management, the industry expects HRM professionals to bring strategic knowledge and expertise. Each member brings strong leadership skills, extensive management experience, and industry knowledge to our association and their addition to the board will help ensure HRPS continues to meet those expectations as a leading provider of knowledge and resources for executives within the industry,” said Rubens.
Peter Cappelli is the George W. Taylor Professor of Management at The Wharton School and Director of Wharton’s Center for Human Resources. He is also a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge, MA. Cappelli joins the HRPS board of directors for the 2011-2012 term and will serve a three-year term. He is based in Philadelphia.
Cathy Malear is Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Unigroup, Inc. She brings more than 20 years of experience as a senior human resources professional. Malear oversees ongoing HR functions and serves as a partner in advising senior management in strategic areas as organizational performance improvement, management development, human resources process design and succession planning for UniGroup’s management team. She will serve a three-year term. Malear is based in St. Louis.
Lawrence E. Milan is Senior Vice President of Human Resources at ING Americas. His background includes significant leadership roles in both corporate and higher education organizations and he is responsible for leading the HR Advisory Services, Talent Management, Leadership/Organizational Development and Workforce Diversity areas in his current role at ING. Milan is based in Windsor, Conn.
In addition to the three newly appointed members of the board of directors, the HRPS board also includes Jane Brenneman, YMCA of Greater Seattle, Ken Goldstein, Mattel, Inc., Stephanie McDonald, Lafarge North America, Inc., David Miller, Duke Corporate Education, Valerie Norton, Broadridge Financial Solutions, Kevin Rubens, Aon/Hewitt, Steven Steckler, Anna Tavis, Lynn Tetrault, AstraZeneca, and Ian Ziskin, EXec EXcel Group, LLC.
