Dallas, TX, September 02, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Systemates Inc., the leading provider of construction program management software, announced today that The Trinity River Authority is continuing its 7-year partnership by renewing a long-term contract for Projectmates construction program management software. The Authority provides clean-water services to 17 Texas counties and more than 60 cities in the Trinity River basin. Since 2004, The Authority has relied on Projectmates to help manage and oversee construction and improvement of its capital assets worth over $1.7 billion to date.
Documenting and managing projects in Projectmates has proved to offset the risk to The Authority significantly over the years. "Photograph documentation of our projects is very important with respect to claims that are filed by contractors," said Mike Querry, Construction Inspector Supervisor for The Authority. "Using Projectmates to document the activities in question and having it available to the necessary personnel and management has helped to reduce the issues as they arise. We also use Projectmates to document wage rate verification from the contractors and make it available to the Texas Water Development Board in a timely fashion."
The Authority has found Projectmates construction program management software has improved project delivery and is easy to use. Projectmates' completely web-based platform facilitates communications between The Authority, including multiple departments, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders. Project delivery has improved with more accurate and faster review times of proposal requests, change orders, and submittals. Prior to adopting Projectmates, handling the complicated and large submittal and photograph documentation had become difficult. Since implementing Projectmates, finding documentation in a timely manner with a standardized method of reporting has become the norm.
"We also make the plans, specifications and contractor submittals available to multiple departments throughout the course of the project. This has greatly helped to reduce the volume of questions that arise during the project," said Mike Querry of The Authority. "After using Projectmates for several years our engineers and contractors have found it to be very user friendly and have provided feedback to us from their experiences with using other similar software for other municipalities that were very cumbersome."
The Authority has projects that range from the expansion of a wastewater treatment plant to a pump improvement to a new meter station. According to The Authority's 2010 annual report, major capital improvement projects during the 2010 fiscal year included the following:
· Expansion of sewage systems and extensions at the Central Regional Wastewater System; the cost of additions to construction-in-progress during the fiscal year was $70.9 million.
· Expansion of water transportation and treatment facilities to the Tarrant County Water Supply Project; the cost of additions to construction-in-progress during the fiscal year was $28.3 million.
· Expansion of sewage system of the Denton Creek Regional Wastewater System; the cost of additions to construction-in-progress during the fiscal year was $9.2 million.
· Expansion of sewage system of the Ten Mile Creek Regional Wastewater System; the cost of additions to construction-in-progress during the fiscal year was $9.6 million.
