Just 4 Us Foundation Organizes a Walk-A-Thon Event
Walk will benefit children with special needs.
Hyattsville, MD, September 03, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Just 4 Us Foundation will organize its awareness Walk-A-Thon event on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Laurel High School, 8000 Cherry Lane, Laurel, Maryland at 9am.
As part of the celebrations marking the Disability Awareness Month celebrated in October, the foundation is organizing its first ever annual Walk-A-Thon event. This event will raise money for its programs for children with special needs and promote healthy lifestyles. The one day event will be filled with activities and entertainment.
“No walk is the same. You could choose to have your walk anywhere,” says Dr. Andrée Harris, founder of the foundation. “However, every walk and monies raised will afford the Just 4 Us Foundation an opportunity to increase the quality of life for children with special needs,” Dr Harris added.
Since 2009, The Just 4 Us Foundation has worked with over 200 children with special needs in Maryland, Washington, DC and Virginia. The Foundation has organized other free events for children with special needs, at-risk youths and their families.
The foundation has two other programs; My Father, My Mother and Me (FMM) that provides free, fun and unique activities and opportunities for successful family reunification after estrangement due to foster care or incarceration. The Striving to Achieve Results (STAR) program offers free and specialized programs for at-risk youth to empower growth and foster an environment of uplifting change.
