Announcing the Logan Whitehurst Memorial Awards for Excellence in Comedy Music

Hudson, OH, September 04, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The first annual Logan Whitehurst Memorial Awards for Excellence in Comedy Music will be held on October 15, 2011 in Akron, Ohio, as part of the music program at Con on the Cob (http://www.cononthecob.com). The awards are sponsored by the Funny Music Project (The FuMP).

Categories

The awards will be presented in 3 categories:

Outstanding Original Comedy Song
Outstanding Parody Song
Outstanding Comedy Music Video

Open Public Nominations

Suggestions for the best songs in each of these categories can be made through September 15, 2011 at the Logan Awards website (http://www.loganawards.com/nomination-form).

Chair

The 2011 awards are chaired by musician and webcomic author Rob Balder.

Jury

The award will be decided by secret ballot of a jury of three fans and three musicians, plus permanent juror emeritus maximus Dr. Demento. The 2011 jurors are:

Jury Nominations

The list of officially jury-nominated songs will be released on the website by October 1.

Ceremony and Awards

In a concert/ceremony from 9 to 11 pm, October 15, all jury-nominated songs and videos will be presented. The winners in each category will be announced, and statuettes presented if the artist is present. The chair of the 2012 Logan Awards will also be announced at that time.
