Productiontrax.com Celebrates Second Anniversary with 18,000th Track
Scottsdale, AZ, April 07, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Productiontrax.com, a leader in online distribution and licensing of independent royalty free music and sound effects got even bigger this month, adding their 18,000th digital media file to their rapidly expanding music library. The milestone comes as Productiontrax.com enters its third full year of operations online.
Launched in February, 2003, Productiontrax.com was the first site of its kind, allowing composers of royalty free production music to take an active role in licensing their music to the public. Composers on Productiontrax.com can upload any music they choose, and set keywords, categories, even the retail price of the track. On the other side, customers can listen to previews of the music, select the tracks they want for their projects, and then use the files legally in multimedia projects. Anyone, anywhere can buy or sell tracks on Productiontrax.com.
“No other stock media site was doing what we were doing when we first launched,” says Productiontrax.com founder and One Light Music CEO, David Negron. “We took a lot of heat for embracing an open-market model, allowing composers to decide what their music was worth. But the end result blew us away, and we believe that the balance we’ve achieved between provider and end-user makes Productiontrax.com a fair and appealing place to buy and sell royalty free music and sound effects.”
The result: in just two years, the Productiontrax.com library has grown to over 18,000 royalty free music, sound effects, and stock footage files, with over 15,000 licensed and placed in multimedia projects ranging from TV commercials to home videos. “We owe our success to not only our wonderful customer base, but to our composers and media providers,” Negron says. Productiontrax.com pays out royalties of 65% per sale back to its contributors, one of the highest payout rates in the industry, with a bulk of the proceeds benefiting independent musicians and sound designers.
The 18,000th track in the Productiontrax.com database? A royalty free classical music track of Ponchielli’s “La Gioconda” licensed by Lynn Music Publishing.
