Grand Opening of The McGough Academy of Irish Dance

Yonkers, NY, September 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The McGough Academy is the Newest TCRG Certified Irish Dance Teaching Academy in the wonderful Irish Community of Yonkers, NY. The owner, Meagan McGough, has spent more than twenty years competing with World Champions throughout America, Ireland, Canada, Scotland and Great Britain. Meagan has won numerous Prestigious Awards from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Oireachtas, The Worlds and All Ireland Championship competitions. Meagan has proven that she is truly a Champion in the National and International Irish Dance Community.

Whether you are a beginner or an advanced dance student, you will receive the newest most advanced Irish Dance Techniques to assist in reaching your highest potential in dancing competition.

Every student's needs and individual skills are important. Meagan will address these dancing skills and develop them consistent with the capabilities of each student.

Most importantly, the McGough Academy is TCRG Certified so that students can compete at every level of Solo Competition, Team Competition and Theatrical Performances. Opportunities to compete will be open to students in Local, National and International Championship Levels at various events throughout the year!

Meagan McGough... Truly A New Yorker!

Although Meagan grew up in Pennsylvania, she presently lives in New York. She developed a love for New York while attending Fordham University where she participated in many school activities. One of these activities was the Annual Fordham Fasion for Philanthrophy Show that raised funds for the "Make a Wish Foundation."

Along with her many successful activities at Fordham, Meagan continued her activities in the Irish Dance Community. In March 2011, Meagan passed her TCRG exam and became a member of the prestigious Irish Dancing Teacher Association of North America and of "An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha" (The Irish Dancing Commission in Ireland).

After graduating from Fordham University, Meagan joined The Estee Lauder Companies.

In addition to Meagans' many successes in Irish Dancing, her other accomplishments consist of being the 2007 Philadelphia "Mary from Dungloe" and finished as a finalist in the International Mary from Dungloe in Donegal, Ireland. Most recently, Meagan was a runner up in the Miss Philadelphia pageant. Meagan held the First Place Talent Award in this pageant for her "Irish Dance Performance."
