Quatro Composites Announces Expansion
Carbon fiber design and manufacturing facilities expand capacity
Orange City, IA, April 07, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Quatro Composites, a leading designer and manufacturer of carbon fiber technologies, is breaking ground for a major expansion of its Northwest Iowa production facilities. The plant expansion, which will increase machining, cutting, and finishing facilities by 40 percent, is in response to growing demand for the company’s carbon fiber-based products. The Orange City, Iowa, plant expansion is expected to by completed in August 2007.
“One of our strengths is in meeting customer demand – not only for superior-quality design and manufacturing, but for quick and reliable turnaround times,” explains Steve Roesner, Chief Operating Officer of Quatro, “Adding capacity will allow us to continue and build onto our reputation for rapid, responsive engineering and production solutions.”
An important addition to Quatro’s manufacturing capabilities will be a new water-jet cutter which enables all cutting and finishing in a single process, creating a clean, smooth finish on carbon fiber products. The expansion will also house expanded machining, pad printing, screen printing, warehouse and distribution areas.
In addition to expanding manufacturing capacity in Iowa, Quatro is moving its Poway, California-based offices to a larger facility in May to accommodate staff and R&D growth. Quatro recently introduced a new proprietary methodology designed to optimize the structural performance (weight, strength, stiffness, cost) of carbon fiber components that is being employed in the New Quatro Technical Development Center in Poway, CA.
Quatro Composites, a division of Tec Industries L.L.C, is an Iowa-based advanced composite manufacturer specializing in carbon fiber applications. Quatro manufactures and engineers products for the aerospace, medical, military & defense, sports and recreation, automotive and wind energy markets. The business operates in two locations, Orange City, Iowa, (Headquarters, Manufacturing & Distribution) and Poway, California (Manufacturing & Technical Development Center).
