Washington Redskins Select FieldTurf for New Indoor Practice Facility

Washington Redskins select FieldTurf for their new indoor practice facility.

Montreal, Canada, September 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Washington Redskins have selected FieldTurf for installation in their new indoor practice facility. The Redskins thus become the 22nd NFL team that has chosen to play and/or practice on FieldTurf.

On September 1, the Redskins announced plans to construct an indoor practice complex with the structure being built over a full-size football field. Work on the project is expected to be completed later this fall. The facility will feature a FieldTurf “Revolution” field (81,900 square feet). FieldTurf’s sister company, Beynon Sports Surfaces, will also install almost 19,000 square feet of its Beynon running track surface that will rim the perimeter of the practice field.

The FieldTurf Revolution and Beynon running track surfaces were designed to be the benchmarks of excellence in the industry and the most innovative artificial turf and running track systems in the world.

The indoor facility will permit the Redskins to practice indoors, either in inclement weather or when preparing to play a game against an opponent that plays its home games on artificial turf. The team also plans to use the building for special events related to the Redskins’ charity and community outreach.

“We are delighted that the Redskins have chosen FieldTurf and Beynon for their new indoor practice facility,” said FieldTurf President Eric Daliere. “We appreciate the confidence shown in our products by (Redskins owner) Daniel Snyder, (General Manager) Bruce Allen and (Head Coach) Mike Shanahan. The Redskins are a first-class organization, and I have no doubt that their new indoor complex will represent that same stature. And we guarantee that the field and track in that new facility will also be first class.”

For the tenth consecutive year, FieldTurf emerged as the leader among all artificial turf brands in the 2010 National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) Playing Surfaces Opinion Survey. An impressive three out of the league’s top four artificial surfaces were FieldTurf fields.
