Virima Adds Top Industry Executives to Its Board of Directors
Atlanta, GA, September 15, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Virima Technologies, Inc. today announced the addition of Richard C. "Dick" Cook and C.N. (Madhu) Madhusudan to its Board of Directors. Founded in 2006, Virima Technologies is an IT operations and data center software and solutions company that helps organizations accelerate data center transformation projects. The Board of Directors oversees Virima and provides the company direction.
Dick Cook is an executive consultant to companies in the high tech industry in the areas of strategic planning, leadership and the roles of the C-level executives. Mr. Cook is retired from 12 years as Director, President and Chief Executive Officer of MAPICS, Inc. He managed the 1993 sale by IBM of the $60 million revenue MAPICS business to Marcam. He also led the complex 1997 reverse spin-out from Marcam, and conducted the public offering that created the MAPICS, Inc. business. Under his leadership, MAPICS grew to $173 million revenue by year end 2004, with over 10,000 active customer sites using the applications in 19 languages, in over 70 countries around the world.
Prior to his tenure with MAPICS, Mr. Cook was an executive with the IBM Corporation. His IBM career spanned 25 years, beginning as an application programmer and retiring from the position of Laboratory Director of the Atlanta Software Development Laboratory. During his career at IBM Mr. Cook held senior management positions in Information Technology, Production Control, Quality Assurance, Plant Engineering, Purchasing, and directed the Boca Raton site operations team during the introduction of the IBM Personal Computer.

As an early member of the team that built the NIIT Group in India, Madhu held key roles including setting up NIIT’s Bangalore operations, turning around NIIT’s Mumbai (Bombay) operations, and establishing NIIT’s HR, IS and Corporate Planning functions. In 1991, he relocated to the United States to build NIIT’s first overseas presence for its software, training and knowledge process outsourcing businesses. Under his leadership, NIIT USA became NIIT’s largest overseas operation and was nominated twice for the Atlanta International Business Award for outstanding leadership and its role in the growth of Atlanta as an international business center. As President of NIIT Ventures, he led and managed several US and European cross border acquisitions from strategy to integration and governance.
