Vermont Furniture Sale Supports Hurricane Irene Disaster Relief
Vermont furniture company donates 100% of Profits to Hurricane Irene Disaster Relief Fund.
Vernon, VT, September 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Hurricane Irene recently brought some of the worst destruction Vermont has ever seen. Nearly 300 roads were washed out leaving many towns isolated and without food, water or power. In the two weeks that have followed, Vermonters and good samaritans from around the country have worked tirelessly to rebuild and restore the area but much work remains to be done. Hundreds of Vermont families are still in desperate need of assistance.
Vermont Woods Studios Furniture is sponsoring a Hurricane Relief Fundraiser by donating 100% of profits from all furniture sold online or in their showroom on Saturday, September 17. Funds raised will be donated to the Vermont Disaster Relief Fund.
“Our thoughts and concerns are with our fellow Vermont residents and businesses as they face the challenges of rebuilding their homes and communities,” said Peggy Farabaugh, co-owner of Vermont Woods Studios. “At Vermont Woods Studios we were fortunate to be spared the destruction experienced by so many and as a company we are eager to contribute to the relief efforts now in place for those impacted. Our craftspeople are scattered throughout the state”, continued Farabaugh, “and while none have been directly impacted they have shared stories of their surrounding communities who have lost homes, roads and businesses.”
This fundraiser is an opportunity for Americans interested in helping Vermonter’s who have been impacted by Irene to purchase handcrafted Vermont-made fine furniture while giving to those the many who have lost everything and are in need of assistance in rebuilding their futures.
