Home-Tech CFO Honored by Gulfshore Business
Sonya Sawyer selected for magazine’s 9th Annual 40-Under-40.
Fort Myers, FL, September 21, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Sonya Sawyer, Chief Financial Officer for Home-Tech, was selected as by Gulfshore Business as a young leader to watch. Nine years ago, Gulfshore Business began singling out up-and-coming community leaders under the age of 40 who have already had a significant impact in their professions and in the community. The magazine works to assemble a diverse group across a wide variety of professions, from law to medicine, education to finance, public service and the arts.
In addition to her role as CFO for Home-Tech, Sawyer serves on the employee-owned company’s board of directors. She is also responsible for overseeing the Home-Tech’s philanthropic activities. Sawyer is a member of the executive board of the American Heart Association and on the Corporate Executive Committee of the Children’s Museum of Naples. She was instrumental in launching the Heart Association’s “Go Red Luncheon” in 2010, and co-chaired the event in 2011. Sawyer showcased her dancing skills as one of the celebrity dancers at the 2010 Red Cross Star Struck event (where she was chosen as crowd favorite). Most recently, she and her husband Brian have agreed to lead as co-chairs for the 2013 Heart Ball.
“Helping individuals in need is one of the forces that drives me,” Sawyer said. “Showing my children and my peers what it is to be philanthropic brings me great happiness.” When she is not at work or involved in one of her many community activities, Sawyer enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children.
