BAMKO Donates 26K Apples to Union Rescue Mission to Welcome the Fall Season
BAMKO Promotional Items, Inc. recently announced that they would donate 26,000 apples to Union Rescue Mission in downtown Los Angeles to warmly welcome the residents into the fall season.
Los Angeles, CA, September 22, 2011 --(PR.com)-- BAMKO Promotional Items, Inc. recently announced that they would donate 26,000 apples to Union Rescue Mission in downtown Los Angeles to warmly welcome the residents into the fall season.
BAMKO Promotional Items, Inc. is a global company that focuses on protecting and promoting brands through high quality promotional products. One of the company’s main focuses is being responsible global citizens and fighting child labor. In an effort to embrace their values and show support to children and families experiencing homelessness at the mission, the company has decided to donate 26,000 apples.
“Everyone has been in a situation where they need a little bit of help. We at BAMKO are happy to do a small part,” says Michael Cohen, BAMKO’s sales representative who came up with the idea and coordinated the donation. “With the increased poverty levels in the US, we should all do whatever we can to help take care of the less fortunate.”
Union Rescue Mission is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving people experiencing homelessness . Chef David from the mission plans to incorporate the apples into the menu, using them for apple glazes, baked apples, and even baked apple pies, as well as adding them to the 1,500 sack lunches prepared weekly for the working, and diabetic guests.
“Union Rescue Mission wishes to express our heartfelt and sincere gratitude to Bamko for their support,” says Alexandra Monsibaez, the Gift-In-Kind coordinator for URM. “We are very grateful for community partners like Bamko for their continued volunteer efforts and now through this wonderful donation of over 26,000 apples which will help to make a difference in so many lives here on skid row. At URM we are committed to making an impact on the skid row community and through this donation we can provide nutrition for all experiencing homelessness on the streets of skid row, as the saying goes ‘An apple a day.’”
BAMKO and Cohen will be delivering the apples on September 22nd, at 9:30 AM.
