City of Los Angeles Awards Facility Assessment Contract to Improve Response to Major Public Health Emergencies
Pasadena, CA, September 23, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Office and Emergency Management Department awarded McClain Consulting Services, Inc. of Pasadena, CA a $125,000 contract to complete Facility Assessments for 31 Recreation and Park Centers across the City.
The 130-day project, funded by a Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program created by the United States Department of Homeland Security, will enhance the City's capabilities to respond to a major public health emergency.
According to Ms. Devra Schwartz, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator with the City of Los Angeles Emergency Management Department, “The City of Los Angeles Emergency Management Department has been working diligently to develop emergency public health plans that will facilitate our collective capability, along with LA County Department of Public Health, to provide mass prophylaxis to the public. The 31 facility assessments McClain Consulting have completed will serve as the foundation to a significant portion of those important planning efforts.”
Each Facility Assessment prepared by McClain Consulting Services, Inc. required an on-site evaluation involving gathering and documenting facility data, photographing the site, preparing maps and aerial imagery, as well as generating as-built floor and site plans.
