The Rare Collections Presents the World Premier Fine Art Photography Exhibit of Jimi Hendrix’s Personal Photographer, Ron Raffaelli

Dallas, TX, September 28, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Rare Collections is pleased to present the world premier of The Raffaelli Archives Fine Art Prints with an exhibition and appearance by legendary rock photographer Ron Raffaelli on Saturday, October 15 from 12 noon to 2pm at The Rare Collections booth at Guitarlington 2011, the world’s largest consumer guitar event in Arlington, Texas.

Ron Raffaelli, a scholarship graduate of The Art Center School of Design, began his career in Rock and Roll photography as an unknown who, at 23 years of age, was hand-selected by Jimi Hendrix to personally document his first and only US tour with The Experience. Raffaelli went on to photograph many of Rock Music’s iconic artists including Blind Faith, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Grace Slick, The Family Stone and many more. Raffaelli shot and produced more than 40 posters, 50 album covers and toured with the elite performers of the classic rock era.

In the mid 1970’s, Raffaelli went on to pursue other venues in fine art photography, films and print. About the same time, a rumor circulated, stemming from an article in a music industry magazine, that Raffaelli was killed in an auto accident in Hollywood. Years later, Raffaelli learned about the story. “I was and still am a working photographer so I never really thought about it, but no wonder I stopped getting calls from rock groups,” joked Raffaelli.

After 40 years in storage, Raffaelli is now releasing his first museum-quality Fine Art Prints from his vast collection. “This is an important event in Rock Music History,” said Andrew Kirby, Executive Producer of The Rare Collections. “There has never been an opportunity for collectors to view and purchase these unseen archives, much less meet Ron in person and hear the fascinating stories behind each incredible image.”

The Rare Collections’ booth will also feature authentic memorabilia including handwritten poetry by Jim Morrison of The Doors, Tour-worn clothing from Van Halen, fine art photography from Neil Zlozower, vintage guitars, and collectibles from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and many more of the best-known and respected artists in the world.

The Rare Collections is where top collectors turn to archive, preserve, appraise and disperse their most prized pieces of pop culture and rock-n-roll memorabilia. They help collectors tell the stories behind each treasure, understand its importance in history and decide how best to preserve its legacy or realize its value.

Guitarlington 2011 is produced by 4 Amigos Guitar Shows, sponsored by Vintage Guitar Magazine and is billed as the world’s largest consumer guitar event. It is held at the Arlington Convention Center at 1200 Ballpark Way, Arlington, Tx 76011. The Show schedule is 10am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday October 15 and 16, 2011. Adult admission is $15.00 and children 12 and under are admitted free if accompanied by an adult. The Rare Collections booth will be open for the entire event, but Ron Raffaelli will be there from 12 noon to 2pm on Saturday October 15th only.
