New York, NY, September 28, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Barbara Cartland: My Life is a Novel
Kultur is proud to announce the DVD release of Barbara Cartland: My Life is a Novel, available October 25th.
This DVD tells the extraordinary life story of this great woman of literature who wrote 723 books which sold over 650 million copies.
She was a gossip columnist for the Daily Express, and in 1923 Cartland published her first novel, Jigsaw, an edgy society thriller which would soon become a bestseller. In 1926 she penned her first play Blood Money (1926), which was considered “racy” by the standards of the day and was essentially banned in Britain by the Lord Chamberlain's Office. These two works became the springboard for scores of works to come.
Vogue magazine called her "the true Queen of Romance." She became a mainstay of the popular media in her trademark pink dresses and plumed hats. In 1983 Cartland wrote 23 novels, and holds the Guinness World Record for the most novels written in a single year.
Just months before she died Barbara Cartland went on camera for this historic program, and she greeted us one last time in her universe where "Love was king."
