Olney, MD, September 28, 2011 --(PR.com)-- More than 80 businesses, agencies and non-profit organizations and eight premier restaurants will feature their wares at the Olney Chamber of Commerce’s 32nd Annual Community Night, the oldest business expo in Montgomery County.

The event is scheduled for 5 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5 at Longwood Community Center, 19300 Georgia Ave., Brookeville, 1.5 miles north of Route 108. Admission is free. A limited number of exhibitor tables are available,
registration can be completed online at www.olneymd.org, by mail, by fax or in person at the Chamber’s Office and Visitors Center, 3460 Olney-Laytonsville Rd., Olney.

Attendees are asked to bring food and financial donations to help re-stock the shelves of Olney Help, a local food pantry. Canned goods and shelf-stable foods, such as powdered milk, rice, pasta and cereal, are needed and financial donations are appreciated. For more than 40 years, Olney Help has provided food and emergency assistance to local families and individuals.

The Olney Lions Club, longtime Community Night participants, will offer free eye, glaucoma and hearing screenings from its Mobile Health Unit in Longwood’s upper parking lot.

The Taste of Olney will offer treats from eight local restaurants: Casa Rio, Grill Marx, Mamma Lucia, Olney Bagel Bakery, Pho Grill, Rita’s, Taste and Urban Bar-B-Q.

“Just about any product or service that a consumer could want is available from Olney’s extensive business community,” says Robyn Quinter, event co-chair. “The community supports its local businesses, and Community Night presents a great venue for companies and agencies to get the word out about their offerings.” Event attendance has grown significantly in the past few years. Last year, Maryland-National Capital Park Police estimated nearly 3,000 residents enjoyed the delicious food, displays and exhibits, raffles, door prizes, silent auction and children’s activities.
