Heart Rhythm Congress 2011 Assembles Leading Experts in Cardiology in Birmingham - Arrhythmia Alliance
The UK's main heart rhythm conference opens in Birmingham.
Birmingham, United Kingdom, September 30, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Leading experts in the field of cardiology will assemble at Birmingham's Hilton Metropole from Sunday 2nd - Wednesday 5th October 2011 for the annual Heart Rhythm Congress.
The Heart Rhythm Congress brings together all those with an interest in arrhythmias. It offers an educational opportunity for members of the medical, allied professional and industry communities to increase their own and others’ knowledge of heart rhythm disorders, and does this in an open, interactive environment. The congress boasts a full programme of scientific sessions along with HRUK Certificate of Accreditation courses, recorded cases and industry sponsored sessions. There is a trade exhibition running throughout. There are also hands-on sessions and an evening seminar aimed at trainees.
HRC is the most important event on the UK cardiology calendar and enables cardiac rhythm professionals to network and share the latest knowledge and techniques.
There is also a Patients’ Day on the Sunday before the professional event opens when people affected by heart rhythm disorders and their families can meet and share experiences.
The Congress will look at whether the proposed NHS reforms will change the landscape, cardiac devices, stroke risk and the involvement of genetics.
Nick Linker, Programme Director said, "This year’s highlights include an impressive international faculty, with Paolo Della Bella from Milan, Michael Gold from Charleston, Patrick Ellinor from Boston plus Professors Paulus Kirchhof from Munster and Helmut Klein from Magdeburg.
"One of the incredible highlights of this year’s event will be a session on ‘Oral Anticoagulants Enter the Dragons’ Den.’ The session will be chaired by Sue Lawley who will be joined on the panel by leading experts from the world of Atrial Fibrillation."
Trudie Lobban, of the organising committee said, "This is a unique meeting as it brings together patients, carers, and clinical experts and it also enables healthcare companies to showcase the latest treatments for heart rhythm disorders."
