Stevenson University Chooses FieldTurf
School Installs Revolution at Mustang Stadium
Owings Mills, MD, September 30, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Stevenson University is the latest school to have installed FieldTurf Revolution at their campus’ primary athletic stadium. Stevenson recently opened the doors to Mustang Stadium, home of the school’s football, soccer, field hockey, and lacrosse programs. The 3,500 seat stadium spearheads a major renovation project undertaken by the school’s athletic department, and surely will boost Stevenson’s image within the collegiate community.
“FieldTurf was the best option, especially with all the weather,” said Paul Cantabene, associate athletic director and head men’s lacrosse coach. “We can use it all the time and it really was a great fit for our stadium as well so we are really happy with what we chose and why we chose it.”
In its inaugural home game, the Mustangs won a nail biter in 2OT – marking their 1st victory in program history. The sellout crowd of 3,500 epitomized the excitement being generated around campus, and the team looks to thrive this season with a new attitude and swagger.
Stadium and team officials are raving about the added flexibility FieldTurf will provide to the athletic department. FieldTurf absorbs water accumulation better than any other sports playing surface, resulting in less rescheduled games and practices. The team’s decision to install Revolution provides Stevenson one of the newest turf products to hit the market. Cryogenic rubber and silica sand are mixed into the fibers, creating one of the finest artificial turf systems available in the market.
With an expanding Division III sports program that ranks among the best year after year, Stevenson University looks to build on that success playing on FieldTurf. The stadium boasts state-of-the-art amenities, and now most importantly a state-of-the-art field that’s environmentally responsible and eco-friendly.
