Seattle, WA, October 04, 2011 --(PR.com)-- National Seat Filling is proud to present:

From the Inside Out...

Two-day Makeover and Self-Improvement Sessions Give Wounded Women a Hope-Filled New Start.

In-brief: Nonprofit, “Queen, It’s a New Day,” gears up for its annual two-day celebratory event bringing hope and help to women in transition from abuse and neglect to self-sufficiency and a functional life. The public’s help is requested in terms of financial support for the 11-year old nonprofit and contributions of women’s clothing and accessories. Contributions help a special and select group of wounded women rise to new heights emotionally, psychologically and economically.

September 28, 2011 - Everett, WA: Today, Judy Hoff, Executive Director of the 11-year old, all-volunteer, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, “Queen, It’s a New Day,” announced fundraising and public awareness events have begun in promotion of the organization’s “Queen, It’s a New Day,” two-day annual celebration of women in need.

The event takes place at Lynnwood’s Courtyard Marriott Hotel with Queen’s Gala Dinner Celebration scheduled for 5:00pm, Monday, October 24th, 2011 at the Lynnwood Convention Center.

The Gala Dinner Celebration is the crown-jewel of the two-day event. The organization works each year with a different group of abused, broken or forgotten women who are transitioning from desperate circumstances towards healthy, productive lives. Participants are chosen from a number of regional women’s agencies.

Supported by an army of dedicated volunteers, the women, referred to as the organization’s special “Queens,” are given an experience that, for many, is a launch pad towards a “new day,” that is, a new life.

This year’s keynote speaker is author, Kevin Hall, the highly sought after business consultant, speaker and coach. He was a partner in Franklin Quest, makers of the Franklin Day Planner, he helped fuel Franklin's worldwide growth.

Hall is recognized for his groundbreaking approach to uncovering the hidden, and often secret, meanings of words. In his latest book, Aspire, he uncovers the inherent, often unrecognized, power in words and how our choice and use of words cause us to either, as Mr. Hall puts it, “…sell or repel, lead or impede, heal or kill…”

“I’m delighted to welcome Mr. Hall as our keynote speaker,” says Hoff. “His wisdom and insight will undoubtedly bolster and motivate our Queens as well as our many guests.”

On Monday morning, the women arrive by motor coach and are escorted into the hotel by dress uniformed sailors from the United States Navy from Naval Base Everett. The women receive a red carpet welcome and are whisked into salon areas for image makeovers – new hairstyles, makeup, manicures, chair massages.

Mid-day, the Queens enjoy a relaxing luncheon where they can mingle, share stories and get to know one another in advance of an afternoon of more pampering. In the afternoon, they’re fitted for new business-style outfit including under-garments, a pair of shoes, handbag and accessories.

The outfits are advantageous for future employment interviews. Clothes and accessories are new and gently-worn apparel generously contributed by the organization’s patrons and residents of the greater Seattle community. Hoff says the organization is in need of donations to outfit the approximately 125 participants in this year’s program.

Monday evening’s gala celebration finds the Queens resplendent in formal gowns also donated by business and individual supporters of Queen, It’s a New Day. Each woman walks from the wings to center stage where she is celebrated for her unique and special qualities. Says CEO Hoff, “As their community mentors, we remind them to recall and appreciate themselves, their own self-worth and who they really are.”

On Tuesday, participants gather for intensive life skills and career coaching, they are helped to write their resumes, and taught productive ways to interview, land and keep a job.

“For woman striving, often struggling, to make a new start in life, the weekend of re-imaging and employment education is crucial to their self-confidence. Our organization gives women a hand-up, not a hand out,” says Hoff.

She quickly adds, “We’ve many, many stories of lives transformed because of this amazing program. Life changes in a moment and we create those important moments of change. “Queen, It’s a New Day” bring focus to the forgotten.”
