GNU Bayonne 2 1.0 Released
GNU Bayonne 2 offers a GNU GPL licensed scalable, media independent software environment for development and deployment of telephony solutions for use both with current, and next generation VOIP telephone networks using GNU/Linux, BSD systems, and Microsoft Windows.
Cape May Court House, NJ, October 20, 2005 --(PR.com)-- Tycho Softworks and GNU Telephony is happy to announce the immediate availability of GNU Bayonne 2 1.0. GNU Bayonne is the telecommunications application server of the GNU project and offers a GNU GPL licensed scalable, media independent software environment for development and deployment of telephony solutions for use both with current, and next generation VOIP telephone networks using GNU/Linux, BSD systems, and Microsoft Windows.
GNU Bayonne is in use today by over 1000 organizations worldwide. GNU Telephony is the meta project dedicated to the development and promotion of the use of free software for telephony and the organization promoting GNU Bayonne development. Tycho Softworks offers commercial support and professional services for GNU Bayonne users worldwide.
GNU Bayonne 2 1.0 is composed of those services and features found in the recently introduced and very rapidly advancing GNU Bayonne 2 development effort that were considered stable for commercial use. Features were chosen for introduction in the 1.0 release that were already stable and effective for production use and immediately supportable under GNU/Linux. "GNU Bayonne is part of our vision for telephony enabling services that are part of everyday business processes", said David Sugar, GNU Bayonne maintainer and owner of Tycho Softworks. "Tycho Softworks is committed to the use of free software as the primary means to advance telephony commercially in the enterprise."
GNU Bayonne 2 is a free software package that has been developed by volunteers around the world and organized under the GNU Telephony meta project. These volunteers cooperate with other Free Software development groups, including those working on Carrier Grade extensions for the Linux kernel, and the GNU Enterprise project. Many organizations and individuals too numerous to name have contributed resources and time to help create GNU Bayonne 2.
GNU Bayonne 2 can be obtained in source code form directly from ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/bayonne. For further information contact David Sugar (dsugar at tychosoft dot com), GNU Telephony at http://www.gnutelephony.org, or Tycho Softworks at http://www.tychosoft.com.
