Olde Towne Donates $500,000 for Raleigh Community Center
Raleigh, NC, April 13, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Scott McCrary, president of Carolina Communities Development Group, has donated $500,000 on behalf of Olde Towne Company to the city of Raleigh to build a community recreational center and park near Barwell Elementary School. The Barwell Road Community Center, a 15,000-square-foot family recreational center, with swimming pool and fitness center, plans to open in January 2007, and represents only the beginning of Carolina Communities commitment to the area. The community center will lie on 40 acres adjacent to Barwell Road Elementary and include baseball fields and hiking trails. Olde Towne is a new development with 2,400 homesites and will feature a Rick Robbins signature-designed 18-hole golf course, as well as a robust retail component for shopping, professional services and entertainment.
“We are interested in responsible neighborhood development that adds value to the communities in which we participate," said McCrary. “Olde Towne encourages healthy community values. This donation, as well as future efforts from us, will assist in achieving that goal.”
“This recreational center contributes directly to the enrichment of families in our community and to the future of our children,” said Raleigh City Councilman James West.
