Threshold Sound + Vision reports a busy year with the recording of projects by Sharon Isbin and Nancy Wilson, Don Was and American Idol, and the production of a release for The Doobie Brothers.
Santa Monica, CA, October 05, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Threshold Sound + Vision reports a busy year with the recording of projects by Sharon Isbin and Nancy Wilson, Don Was and American Idol, and the production of a release for The Doobie Brothers, said Peter A. Barker, co-owner of Threshold.
Threshold’s director of engineering, Peter A. Barker, along with lead engineer Todd Bergman, recorded and mixed Sharon Isbin and Nancy Wilson’s “Dreamboat Annie” in Studio A. The song is part of Isbin’s Sony Music CD, Sharon Isbin & Friends: Guitar Passions, which released on Aug. 30, 2011.
Threshold hosted producer Don Was and his engineer, Howard Willing, in Studio A during their recording of the American Idol sessions. Scotty McCreery, winner of American Idol season 10, recorded his first single, “I Love You This Big,” at Threshold with producer Mark Bright and engineer Derek Bason. Bergman assisted on the session.
McCreery’s single premiered at number 32 on the Billboard Hot Country chart, making it the highest-charting debut for a new artist since Jan. 20, 1990. Billboard also reports that the song hit number one on iTunes and number three on the Billboard Digital chart with 171,404 units sold.
This year, Threshold also worked on the completion of The Doobie Brothers “1982 Live at The Greek Theatre” DVD and CD, which was released by Eagle Vision on Jun. 27, 2011. Audio restoration and mastering was handled by Barker in Studio A, video editing and finishing was done by Marc Schrobilgen, director of video operations at Threshold.
