Learn from local composer and author, Audrey Smith, about her delightful musicals and charming read-a-long storybooks. Sing and read-along while watching live production excerpts and discover the many applications for character education and other state and national mandated curriculum requirements.

Pepper and Ensemble Arts Academy invite you to attend “Character Education Through the Music of Audrey Smith”, A free Musical Reading Session & Performance. “The Halloween Misfits” and “The Mischievous Bugs” are two wonderful musicals by Audrey Smith celebrating Diversity and Character Development. The event takes place one time only, Saturday October 22, 2011, from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon at the First Christian Church, Las Vegas, at 101 South Rancho Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89106-4843.

About: Ensemble Arts Academy brings a new level of music education and appreciation to the Las Vegas community through private and group lessons and performances. They offer access to a comprehensive selection of sheet music and supplies as well as instrument rentals, sales, and repairs by NAPBIRT expert repairman, William Degenkolb. Claude Borders, the Director of Ensemble Arts Academy since it started in 2009, plays and teaches horn, and has performed with top musicians in the Disneyland All-American College Marching Show Band, the USAF Band of Liberty, the Colonial Brass Quintet, and the New England Winds. EAA’s highly qualified music faculty have started music programs at many schools, churches and organizations, including:
Maranatha Spanish SDA Church: Drum and Bugle Corps, Pathfinder Club: Conquistadores. Seeking donations for travel to competition in March 2012, trumpets, and marching drums.
ARTreach: STOMP style music, stepping, dance workshop and performance with inner city youth. Grant from UC Berkeley.
Abundant Life Christian Academy: String Orchestra
Camp Rocks! Summer music camp, ages 6-16, form a band, rehearse for 2 weeks, perform for friends and family at a venue in Las Vegas, including Town Square, Las Vegas Parks and Recreation, Choices Showroom, Sam Ash Music, etc.
About: Audrey Smith draws from more than 30 years of experience as a teacher and performer. She has conducted workshops at universities, served as an artist in residence, and recently was honored and selected in the "Who's Who America's Teachers" for the 2005-2006 year. Audrey also received the fine arts award from the College of St. Rose located in Albany, New York. She teaches elementary music at CCSD in Las Vegas, Nevada. Audrey Productions has specifically designed programs to teach children through literature the importance of respect, honesty, self-esteem, and responsibility, all of which are aligned to the state standards of the Character Education Program.
