Zen Planner Celebrates 500 Customer Milestone, Closes Series A Funding

Due to exceptional growth, the company raises capital and increases support for its fitness studio management software with staff additions and extended service hours.

Denver, CO, October 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Zen Planner, an online member management, billing, and scheduling service for fitness businesses, has reached the 500 customer milestone, doubling its customer base from less than a year ago. Since 2006, the company has served the fitness community with reliable, user-friendly software that makes running a fitness business simple.

To support the exceptional growth, Zen Planner has closed a new round of funding in order to hire new staff and extend its service hours. Support staff are now available for clients, including martial arts schools, CrossFit affiliates and trainers, yoga and Pilates studios, and music and dance schools, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. EDT.

Zen Planner is proud to announce the appointment of Jeff Gardner as Chief Executive Officer. As CEO, Jeff Gardner brings extensive experience working with small businesses, particularly in software development and integration. He previously served as the President for Pay Simple, successfully raising millions of dollars and securing strategic partners to significantly impact the company’s growth and bottom line.

Stated Jeff, “I love the market opportunity and the growth potential of Zen Planner. Its founders, Ben and Filipina Pate, have done an amazing job of keeping the software solution focused on the customer and keeping it easy to use. I have never met two people more passionate about truly making business owners more successful. Their passion carries through in everything they do.”

Dennie McGarry joins Zen Planner to help new members implement and use the fitness studio software, whether they have previously used a competitive product or are new to business management tools. A competitive cyclist, Dennie is passionate about the fitness industry and brings years of customer focus from his experience with the Boy Scouts of America and in the cash logistics industry.

Wendy Stewart joins Zen Planner to ensure that the company provides exceptional support to existing members. She will also gather customer feedback for future enhancements to the Zen Planner software solution. Prior to joining Zen Planner, Stewart held customer service and technology support roles in the alternative energy, real estate, and non-profit industries. In these roles, she assisted members and franchisees with online software programs for more organized workflows and efficient marketing campaigns. She also helped her family open a successful fitness club in Kansas.

Increased bandwidth for the Zen Planner team will create greater opportunity for product development and enhancements as the company continues its mission to provide small businesses making a difference with the best tools available, anywhere. The membership software already helps them organize fitness teachers’ calendars, meet membership goals, and simplify billing.
