MedPro Rx President Honored for Business Achievement, Commitment to Empowering Women and Eliminating Racism.
Raleigh, NC, October 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- MedPro Rx, Inc. (http://www.medprorx.com) has announced that Nancy McFarlane, president of the company and mayor pro tem of Raleigh, will be inducted into the YWCA Academy of Women on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at the 29th Annual Academy of Women Awards. Established in 1983, the Academy of Women is a distinguished membership group of 256 remarkable women who excel in their fields while maintaining a strong commitment to the YWCA mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. McFarlane, who is a candidate for Raleigh mayor, will be honored in the business category.
The 2011 inductees were revealed at the Oct. 4 Academy of Women Kickoff, which was held at the Governor’s Mansion. McFarlane and this year’s inductees were introduced to current Academy members, YWCA board members, community leaders and friends of the YWCA in advance of the Academy of Women Awards, the oldest and most prestigious awards program recognizing women for their service to the community.
McFarlane started MedPro Rx, an accredited specialty infusion pharmacy that provides infusion medications and services to clients with chronic illnesses, in Raleigh in 2002. Under her leadership, MedPro Rx has received multiple honors for its impressive achievements within its first decade of operation. Triangle Business Journal has repeatedly recognized the firm as one of the fastest-growing, privately held companies in the area with its Fast 50 award in each of the last three years. In 2008, MedPro Rx finished in first place in this listing by Triangle Business Journal. The company garnered the No. 6 and No. 16 positions in 2009 and 2010 respectively for that same Triangle Business Journal Fast 50 list. MedPro Rx was recognized by Business Leader Magazine as third out of the Top 100 Small Businesses in NC in 2009 and in 2011 as second in the south on the Top 300 Small Businesses List. The company was placed on Inc. magazine’s 500/5000 list in 2009, 2010, and 2011.
In 2010, MedPro Rx received the Patriotic Award from the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, an organization of the Department of Defense. The award recognizes employers for contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employee participation in America’s National Guard and Reserve. That same year, Triangle Business Journal honored MedPro Rx with its Best Places To Work award in the small businesses category.
