Local Author Releases New Murder Mystery with Maryland Flavor

Penny Clover Petersen draws on her hometown of Bowie, Maryland for the setting of her new mystery novel, “Roses and Daisies and Death, Oh My!”

Bowie, MD, October 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Penny Clover Petersen, resident of Bowie, Maryland, has released a new novel, set entirely in Maryland, entitled “Roses and Daisies and Death, Oh My!” The action leads readers from the suburbs of Washington, D.C. to Baltimore and across the Chesapeake Bay.

The novel features Daisy Greene and Rose Forrest, sisters and co-owners of a high-end gift shop, who discover a body in the woods while on their morning walk. With Christmas right around the corner, the little antiques district of Old Towne cannot afford to have a murderer on the loose.

The two sisters, with the help of a quirky cast of characters, including their eccentric mother, Angela, and their hormonally exuberant dog, Malcolm, attempt to follow the clues to the killer. But, when Daisy and Rose start asking questions things get hairier. Someone begins stalking them, and Daisy receives threatening letters and is brutally attacked.

Their determination grows when clues lead to a missing historic diamond and the man Daisy is dating becomes the next victim. They are in a race to catch the killer before anyone else is hurt.

Readers exclaim, “A fun summer read!” Maureen D. F. raves, “It was a lovely afternoon in the hammock reading and laughing...Of course, azaleas, rockfish, crabs, and a cruise on the Chesapeake were like sprinkles of Old Bay.”

“Roses and Daisies and Death, Oh My!” is available for sale at Amazon Kindle, Barnes and Noble Nook, Apple iBook, and Smashwords.com.
