Access Self Storage Honored for Community Improvement Efforts
Oak Cliff, TX, October 08, 2011 --(PR.com)-- At their annual musical on September 30, locally-owned Access Self Storage was honored by the Metropolitan Dream Center of Dallas for its commitment to the homeless community. For the past five years, Access has donated storage space to the Center to house clothing, food, and other supplies as well as advertising for the Center’s annual Harvest Fest.
“It’s always what we want to do, help people in need in our communities,” says Access Owner Doug Hunt. His company’s ongoing commitment to helping others has already garnered recognition and numerous awards from organizations across the city. “We really love how hard the ladies at the Dream Center work at a job that never ends and is often without thanks.”
The Metropolitan Dream Center is a faith-based, non-profit organization with almost twenty years of experience aiding the homeless and less fortunate. By partnering with local churches, the Center is able to provide necessities like food, clothing, and transportation to an average of 150 indigent citizens each month.
That number swells each year at the Center’s annual Harvest Fest, an event designed to capitalize on the generosity of the Center’s donors and volunteers and to reach as many needy individuals as possible. At this year’s Harvest Fest, scheduled for Saturday, November 12, the Center hopes to pass last year’s record 2,000 people helped.
Donations to benefit the Metropolitan Dream Center are always gratefully accepted. Needs include non-perishable food items, clothing, toiletries, coats, blankets, and monetary gifts. All donations are tax-deductible; checks should be made out to the Metropolitan Dream Center. To schedule a pickup or for more information, call Director Margaret James at 214-916-0623.
All other inquiries should be directed to Doug Hunt at 214-742-9499 or doug@ownersmanagementco.com.
