Presque Isle Downs and Casino Sponsoring $11,000 Bocce Ball/Bowling Tourney
Presque Isle Downs and Casino is sponsoring an $11,000 Bocce Ball/Bowling Tournament at Freeway Lanes in Wickliffe, OH, Dec. 10 and 11.
Erie, PA, October 14, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Presque Isle Downs and Casino is sponsoring an $11,000 Bocce Ball/Bowling Tournament at Freeway Lanes in Wickliffe, OH, Dec. 10 and 11. The event will feature 56 four-man teams squaring off for a chance to win $5,000 in first place monies. “We are very excited about this event,” said Glenn Gable, Freeway Lanes owner. “We think there is a lot of interest in Bocce Ball in this community.”
The tournament will be conducted at the newly opened four-court modern Bocce Ball Club located inside the Freeway Lanes bowling facility. The management believes this will be the largest Bocce Tournament in the world and will have the greatest prize pot ever awarded in the United States thanks to the generosity of Presque Isle Downs and Casino. They also believe that these are the first indoor professional Bocci courts in the state of Ohio.
“We are thrilled to sponsor this event” said Fred Buro, Presque Isle Downs and Casino General Manager. “We believe there is a wonderful opportunity here to enhance the great sport of Bocce and Bowling...And we feel good that the local diabetes organization will benefit from this.”
15% of the tournament registration fees and all sponsorships sold will be awarded to the Diabetes Partnership of Cleveland.
The general public is welcome to attend the event. There will be live entertainment and food and beverage specials. Seating capacity is 150 on a first come first serve basis.
Registration will be conducted on site.

1st Place: $5000
2nd Place: $2,400
3rd Place: $1600
4th Place: $800
5th Place: $600
6th Place: $400
7th Place: $200
