San Francisco, CA, October 11, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Online Asian fashion retailer YesStyle kicks off October with the 2011 edition of its month-long campaign to support breast cancer awareness and research. Dubbed Pink It with YesStyle, the campaign is now on its second year and aims to educate more women about the disease, as well as encourage customers to shop for pink items as a way to draw attention to the cause of breast cancer awareness and research.
This year, YesStyle joins hands with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), a Texas-based, non-profit organization recognized as one of the top breast cancer charities in the United States. The NBCF raises awareness about breast cancer and early detection through continuing education programs, and thus helps to save and extend women's lives. The foundation also provides low-cost and free mammograms to women with limited resources, and a supportive and caring community for those diagnosed with breast cancer and their families. YesStyle will make a guaranteed donation of US$5,000 to NBCF that will go towards providing mammograms for women who need it.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Korean, Chinese, Filipino and Japanese women in the United States. Yet, compared to all other women in the US, Asian-American women are found to be the least likely to get a mammogram. Studies prove that getting a mammogram and a clinical breast exam regularly are the best ways to diagnose breast cancer early, making it easier to treat and reduce the risk of dying from the disease.
As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Pink It with YesStyle delivers a timely message to women about taking care of their health. "I'm glad that we are continuing to support such an important issue that not only affects women but their families and loved ones as well," said YesStyle CEO and founder Joshua Lau. "Through the Pink It with YesStyle campaign, we hope to lend a helping hand to finding the cure for breast cancer and also empowering our customers through awareness."
The campaign runs until October 31 on all YesStyle websites: YesStyle.com, YesStyle.com.hk, YesStyle.com.au, YesStyle.co.uk and the newly opened YesStyle.ca.
