Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association New Advertising Campaign
Miami, FL, October 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- HCP/Aboard Publishing has announced the launch of OurJamaicaMagazine.com which is the online component to the award winning Our Jamaica Magazine, the official visitors guide of the JHTA (Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association). The website features events and offers, a digital edition of the visitors guide - which is also mobile-friendly. It allows users to self publish comments and images of their travels to Jamaica and submit stories for publishing and helps facilitate direct bookings for hotels. Additionally, Our Jamaica is available on Facebook with a YouTube channel and mobile version to follow in the near future.
According to Garry Duell, the publisher “Our Jamaica visitors guide is not only distributed in over 19,000 guest rooms 365 days a year, it is also used by the JTB (Jamaica Tourist Board) as sales collateral for international trade shows. This provides our clients with an incredible amount of exposure – great value and added value – and now with the launch of the website, global reach attracting overnight visitors and cruise ship passengers as well.” The second edition of Our Jamaica Magazine will be published in December 2011.
Negotiations in 2010 between the JHTA and HCP/Aboard Publishing resulted in a media agreement which provides a generous amount of promotion for the island of Jamaica. The unique arrangement provides for revenues from the sale of advertising to be reinvested into the marketing of the destination. The new website is the centerpiece of online, print and social media marketing campaigns provided to the JHTA at no cost by HCP/Aboard Publishing. The media agreement is a win-win for advertisers, Jamaica’s tourism industry, as well as consumers – who will benefit from more high quality images and comprehensive scope of up to date information for travel planning at their fingertips.
The island has been recognized and awarded for many recent tourism industry achievements including best cruise destination, best tourism board and a host of other industry awards from the 2010 World Travel Awards. Additionally, the Jamaican government plans a multimillion dollar rehabilitation plan for Ocho Rios, St. Ann and five artisan villages in the island’s resort towns within the next five years.
