Pima County JTED Celebrates Opening of New Campus

Tucson, AZ, October 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- JTED @ Santa Rita Culinary Arts & Multimedia Conference Center.
The Pima County Joint Technical Education District will celebrate the Grand Opening of its newest campus, the JTED @ Santa Rita Culinary Arts & Multimedia Conference Center, Wednesday, Oct. 12 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The 13,000 square-foot facility has a dining room that seats up to 250 people, an ultra-modern kitchen for advanced students, a large demonstration kitchen, a Multimedia studio, a master control room, a laboratory and two edit bays. The Pima County JTED, which paid $1.8 million for the building, has a one-dollar-per-year lease agreement for 50 years with the Tucson Unified School District. ESB Modular Manufacturing of Marana completed the building in July.
More than 175 students are currently enrolled in the JTED @ Santa Rita Culinary Arts courses. As a part of their hands-on learning experience, the students provide food and banquet services for school district and public functions.
Approximately 80 Multimedia students are studying 3D modeling, animation, audio mixing and filmmaking using a combination of licensed and free, open-source, state-of-the-industry software in a lab outfitted with 30 iMac computers.
JTED programs are free and open to all high school sophomore, junior and senior level students who reside in Pima County. Students interested in JTED programs may speak with their high school counselor or visit www.pimajted.org for more information.
