Texas Self Storage Association Celebrates 25 Years at Annual Convention

Round Rock, TX, October 14, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Texas Self Storage Association (TSSA) is celebrating 25 years of service to the self-storage industry in Texas during its annual convention and trade show on October 16-18 in Austin. The convention and trade show is the culmination of a year-long retrospective of the industry’s milestones, and emergence as a business and investment vehicle.

The founders and charter members will be honored during the membership luncheon on Monday, October 17 at the Austin Convention Center. The O’Shea Report is also a featured program during the luncheon taking a look at the lighter side of self storage. A trade show featuring a wide range of products and services for the self-storage industry is open to the public on Tuesday, October 17 for a nominal fee. Education sessions start on Monday, October 17, ending on Tuesday after the close of the trade show.

The convention kicks off on Sunday, October 16 with a charity Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament benefiting the Shriners Children's Burn Hospital in Galveston. A live and silent auction continues throughout the convention adding to the charitable fundraising efforts. Some of the items in the live auction include a 2011 Jeep Wrangler donated by Global Roofing Company, two Club Car Golf carts donated by TBRC Roofing, a weekend fishing trip in east Texas donated by Deason Financial, week-long stays at two different vacation spots donated by OMC Gate Service, and a ride in a MiG jet.

Education sessions start on Monday, October 17 and will address finance and development issues, operations and management, sales and marketing and a legal seminar to address the changes in the lien laws. The lineup of speakers and special presentations has been selected to provide information to those new to the industry as well as veteran operators.

The Texas Self Storage Association was established in 1986 and is a non-profit trade association dedicated to enhancing the quality of the self-storage industry in Texas.
