Delray Beach, FL, October 16, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is seeking input from local businesses and residents regarding the proposed construction of a hotel in the 900-block of West Atlantic Avenue. Presentations will be given on Tuesday, October 25 at 6:30pm at City Hall (100 NW 1st Avenue), and on Tuesday, November 15, 5:30pm at the Delray Public Library (100 W. Atlantic Avenue).
Prime Investors & Developers, based in Hollywood, Fla., responded to a request for proposals to develop several acres of CRA-owned property along the West Atlantic Avenue corridor, issued by the CRA in December 2010. The proposal includes the construction of a four-story hotel and a 135-space parking lot between SW 9th and 10th Avenues.
The hotel, which would face West Atlantic Avenue, would be a moderately priced chain, such as a Fairfield Inn or Hampton Inn, with 128 rooms, a limited service cafe, swimming pool and fitness center for guests, and meeting rooms. Parking would be provided to the rear of the hotel and accessed from SW 9th and 10th Avenues.
The developer has requested the use of several economic development incentives, a long-term land lease, and a construction loan from the CRA. Once complete, the hotel would create more than 30 new jobs.
