Atlanta, GA, October 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- As competitive cheerleading has gained steam in the United States several issues about the appropriateness of cheerleading routines has come into the mainstream media. Just a few years ago a Texas politician went so far as to bring legislation into the Texas senate about regulating and establishing standards for the appropriateness of cheerleading dances. The same scrutiny has been levied on the cheerleading music industry. Parent complaints about the content of language in cheerleading music and at spirit events have increasingly become a hot-button issue. Often songs in cheerleading routines need to be heavily edited to remove profanity and obscene language. Even after the editing has been done participants often mouth the “real” words to a song during the competition, to vulgar effect. Since the onset of the Parent Music Resource Center in the1980s parents and coaches have been looking for clean, appropriate music to use in cheerleading routines.
