Finalists Announced in Mobile Money Global Awards
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, October 20, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Turkcell, Vodafone and PinPay are just some of the innovative names in mobile money that are among the finalists for the second annual Mobile Money Awards that will be announced at Mobile Money Global, the industry’s leading event in Dubai from 1-2 November.
Celebrating the success of mobile money
"This is the second year that we are celebrating the success of mobile money and the impact that it is having on the lives of end users around the world," says Sonum Puri, Mobile Money Global director. "Following a vigorous review process of scores of entries, our team of judges, made up of industry experts, have selected the top four mobile money programmes in each of our seven categories."
She continues: “notable amongst the nominations is Dutch-Bangla Bank’s Mobile Banking for best mobile money launch, which is one of the country’s first initiatives to support financial inclusion and the ongoing ‘Digital Bangladesh’ movement. Furthermore, Bank Andara in Indonesia has shown how technology is a great enabler for financial inclusion as the first parent bank focusing on serving the MFIs (micro finance institutions) in that country. And then Orange Money in Senegal has been nominated for the most inventive marketing campaign for providing educational information and tools that encourage customer subscription and promoting service usage and leveraging its pan-African brand.”
