SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller Kit for BMW 3 Series and Z4 Roadster Now Ships with Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness
The SmartTOP convertible top control module offered by aftermarket specialist Mods4cars for BMW 3 series convertibles and Z4 roadsters now ships with a plug-and-play wiring adapter. It allows opening and closing the top while driving at slow speeds and adds one-touch convenience as well as one-touch operation of the top from afar via the original factory key fob.
Las Vegas, NV, October 21, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Effective immediately BMW 3 series convertible and Z4 roadster owners get to enjoy the conveniences offered by the SmartTOP series while keeping installation efforts to a minimum, thanks to the new, custom designed plug-and-play wiring adapter which now comes standard with each module. The kit, once installed, allows convenient top operation from the original factory key fob without the need to modify or reprogram the key.
Additionally the convertible top can be used at slow speeds of up to 40km/h (~28 mph) with the added convenience of simple one-touch operation. The distinct disadvantage of having to pull over and hold down the switch is a thing of the past. As a result the top is used more often, even on shorter trips.
“We are very happy with the solution we have found for such a simple product installation,” says PR manager Sven Tornow and adds that the custom designed plug-and-play wiring adapter makes installing the kit a very simple and straightforward task. All connections between the car electronics and SmartTOP module are original manufacturer style plugs and sockets, guaranteeing a 100% fit and making it absolutely foolproof.
“The usual concept of having to deal with individual wires or even cutting and splicing is completely absent,” Mr. Tornow concludes.
Each module comes with a hand full of extra features, all of which can be individually enabled, disabled and configured: Windows can be controlled separately by remote or one-touch closed using the all-windows switch in the driver’s side door. Doors can be set to automatically unlock upon turning off the engine and the trunk access feature can be activated with no need to hold down the button on the remote. Even the motorized rear view mirrors (if option present) can be folded in or out from the remote. Top operation can be programmed to continue while the engine is started or the ignition turned off and the entire module can be disabled if needed.
An integrated industry standard USB port allows end-users to configure the module with a laptop or PC and update the product firmware (available free of charge online) if necessary. “Updates will always remain free, for the life of the product” explains Tornow, “once you have purchased a SmartTOP module, you will never get stranded with an obsolete product - an absolutely unparalleled service in this market segment.”
SmartTOP convertible top kits by Mods4cars are available for: Alfa, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Infiniti, Mazda, Mercedes, Mini, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Volkswagen and Volvo.
The SmartTOP kit for BMW 3 series and Z4 roadsters retails for 299.00 Euros + tax.

About Mods4cars:
Mods4cars was founded in 2002 with the idea to add a highly demanded feature to the otherwise almost perfect Porsche Boxster: Comfort One-Touch roof operation while driving at slow speeds. The resulting product offered not only that, but also allowed quick and easy installation by just swapping out a relay box, thus leaving no traces and no permanent changes on the vehicle. The first SmartTOP roof controller was born.
The success of their first products in Germany and Europe prompted them in late 2004 to move operations to the USA, to be able to serve the American market as well as all other English speaking countries such as Australia, UK and South Africa from one central location. Their business has grown to a full-fledged international corporation with an office in Las Vegas and a full line of innovative products as well as distributors and installation partners all over the globe.
Being highly specialized in the development and distribution of aftermarket roof- and comfort controllers since 2002 allows them to offer an unsurpassed level of competence and product quality. Their main goal is optimization of each individual product to a maximum in compatibility, usability and intuitive operation. They put greatest effort into development and quality checks of all their products to achieve this goal and meet all expectations of their customers.
The extraordinary success of their products is also based on the great communication with their customers, which usually already starts for each new product during the development and prototyping phase.
