American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) to Host Green Cleaners: A Free Community Wellness Workshop at the ACHS Campus in John’s Landing, Portland, November 9
Portland, OR, October 21, 2011 --(PR.com)-- American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) has partnered with Caran Goodall, Metro's Toxic Reduction Educator, for a fun, user-friendly DIY workshop, Green Cleaners, to be held on the ACHS campus in the John’s Landing area of Portland on November 9 from 12-1 pm, PST.
Green Cleaners workshop participants will learn about simple and safe alternatives to chemical cleaners, including:
- How to save money
- How to read product labels
- How to make safe choices for your family by finding healthy alternatives to chemical cleaners
- How to make DIY green cleaners for home and health
As the Environmental Working Group (EWG) reports, phthalates, or “plasticizers,” are included in many household items - from toys, to food packaging, to shampoo, to detergents - and have been found to disrupt the endocrine system, including reduced sperm count, testicular atrophy, and structural abnormalities, among others. [1] Why risk the use of commercial products with potentially harmful health effects when there are easy alternatives?
