ActiveReports Server Enables Single Sign-on for Self-Service Reporting with Support for Active Directory Authentication
New release adds LDAP support, enhanced report scheduling, support for ActiveReports sub reports, and more.
Kirkland, WA, October 21, 2011 --(PR.com)-- GrapeCity today announced that ActiveReports Server, a 100% Web-based, rich, self-service reporting solution for business users, now supports Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) to allow you to grant access to users of the Microsoft Windows Active Directory® and other LDAP-compatible directories to reports and models within ActiveReports Server.
IT administrators can now use Active Directory or other LDAP-compatible directories to allow users to log in with the same user name and password that they use to log in to their computers at work. Directories can also be used to assign permissions to reports and databases. IT administrators can use information from Active Directory or other LDAP-compatible directories in row-level security filters within their reports. This allows IT to offer business users single sign-on for access to ActiveReports Server.
The latest ActiveReports Server release includes these additional features:
- Scheduled reports can use relative dates for report filtering parameters like "Today," "Beginning of current month," etc.
- Reports containing sub-reports created with the developer edition of ActiveReports are now supported.
- The enhanced logical data model editor makes it easier to customize the way the database looks to business users.
- Reports can now use images stored in a database.
- Table-formatted reports now allow you to select and modify the style of a row or column of cells.
- Enhanced system diagnostics display more detailed information.
