The DAVE School Welcomes 3D Artist Rich Suchy as New Modeling Instructor
The DAVE School is proud to announce the addition of Rich Suchy to their all-star faculty lineup. Originally from Burbank, California, Suchy brings to The DAVE School an extensive background in designing, building and texturing 3D models for feature films, television, and video games.
Orlando, FL, October 21, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Starting his professional career in 1989 as a digitizer and animator for Audio Visual Imagining, Suchy went on to illustrate comic books including Dark Horse Comics’ Godzilla, and William Shatner’s TekWorld for Marvel Comics. He began his career as a 3D modeler and texture artist at Foundation Imaging. While there, he worked on Roughnecks: Starship Trooper Chronicles, Max Steel, and Dan Dare, adding rigging and animation to his resume. Other projects include Tremors: the Series, and Sony Pictures Animation's Open Season, Narnia, and Beowulf.
“It's a joy to be able to work with such a terrific school and students,” said Suchy of his new position at The DAVE School. “I am overjoyed to be able to give something back to an industry that has treated me so well over the years.” Suchy earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Multi-Media Design from George Mason University in 1999. Before coming to The DAVE School he was a character modeler for The Walt Disney Company, a senior modeler at Sony Pictures Imageworks, and the 3D model and texture supervisor on Planet Sheen for Steve Odekirk's Omation.
